Let's build your website.
This short form helps me understand your business, your story, and what you need your site to do. There are no wrong answers, and you do not need to have everything figured out. That is my job.
Take your time. Most people finish in about fifteen minutes.
Thank You
This is the beginning of your new chapter.
I have everything I need to get started. I will review your answers and start the build. I'll reach out within two weeks for the first draft review.
A copy of your answers and these next steps is on its way to your inbox.
If you want to send screenshots, examples, or anything else, email me anytime at j@doctorjohnna.com.
When you have an extra 30 minutes, run through these next steps.
The first three are required for your site to go live. There is no rush. Having these ready just means I can deploy your site the moment it is finished.
- Set up a professional email, if you do not have one yet. This is an address at your business name, like hello@yourbusiness.com, instead of a personal Gmail. It's usually easiest to set up with the company where you bought your domain (Namecheap, GoDaddy, and most others offer email plans). If you are not sure how, let me know and I will walk you through it.
- Create your GitHub account. This is where your website files live. You keep full ownership, and your password never changes hands.
- Go to github.com/signup and create a free account. Use your business email.
- Once you're in, click the plus sign in the top right corner and choose "New repository."
- Name it after your business, lowercase with dashes, like my-business-site. Leave every other setting alone and click "Create repository."
- On the next page, click "Settings," then "Collaborators" on the left.
- Click "Add people," type dr-johnna, and send the invite.
- Create your Vercel account. This is what puts your site online.
- Go to vercel.com/signup and choose "Continue with GitHub." It uses the account you just made, so there is no new password.
- Pick the free Hobby plan if it asks.
- That's it for now. When your site is ready to launch, I'll send you the last two clicks.
- If you already own a domain, I'll send you the exact DNS records to add in your registrar's dashboard once your site is ready to launch. You make the change yourself, so your domain login stays with you. Don't worry, I'll do this with you live so you're not alone. If you don't have a domain yet, grab yours soon at namecheap.com. Talk it through with me first and I'll help you choose one that's memorable and marketable.
If you'd rather take the two brand surveys after all, they're at aiblueprint.drjohnna.co and brandarchetype.drjohnna.co.
If a login ever needs to be shared directly instead of through an invite, never send it by email or text. Use Bitwarden Send to share it securely. The link self-destructs once I open it.
Once your accounts are ready, I will walk you through sharing access securely. You will own your website fully when it is done. If you ever want updates later, I am just an email away.
Thank you for trusting me with one of the most important pieces of your brand. Your website is your voice online, rooted in who you are and why you started.
Dr. Johnna
